Required Dance Supplies and Attire

for Classes at YDA

Creative Movement (CM),

- Dancers are to wear something comfortable and easy to move in.

- ballet slippers with no drawstrings are suggested, but socks or bare feet will work too.

- Hair out of their face.

- Water bottle is recommended

Advanced Ballet, Ballet,

Nutcracker Performance Program

- Dancers are to have a black camisole leotard

- Theatrical Pink/Ballet Pink tights,

- Ballet pink/nude Ballet slippers with no drawstrings.

- Hair MUST be in a bun

- Skirts are allowed.

- Water bottle is recommended.

A nude leotard is recommended (not required) for performances (especially those who are in multiple dances)

- Ballet sweaters are also recommended for the cooler months. (No hoodies or large sweaters are allowed for class)

Contemporary

- Black camisole leotard (required for performing)

- black leggings (required for performing),

- Comfortable and easy to move in clothing

- Bare feet, or contemporary shoes/socks

- Hair to be up and out of their face.

- Water bottle is recommended

Jazz

- Black camisole leotard (required for performing)

- Black leggings (required for performing)

- comfortable and easy to move in clothing

- Jazz shoes or Jazz sneakers

Fall 2023 at glance...

Registration for Fall 2023 class will open in August 2023. When online registration is open it will be posted on our home page and social media.

Classes offered in the fall:

Admission into this program is by audition only for new dancers.

Dancers born in 2013 and older,
2 or more classes a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday depending on level),
repertoire dances for Nutcracker taught in class, participates in Nutcracker.
Can register for Nutcracker Performance Program if dancers wishes to have additional dances/roles.
Ballet Program dancers born in 2017 and older, 1 class a week on Wednesdays. Can register for Nutcracker Performance Program if wishes to perform.
Jazz & Contemporary classes dancers born in 2017 and older, 1 class a week Thursdays. Can register for Nutcracker Performance Program if wishes to perform.
Creative Movement dancers born in 2020. 1 class a week either Tuesday or Thursdays.
Dance Exploration (explores several different styles) dancers born in 2019 and older. 1 class a week Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday depending on level.
Nutcracker Performance Program dancers born 2017 and older, class/rehearsal a week.

Important Dates for Fall 2023

August 2023 - Online Registration opens

September 11, 2023 - Fall term Begins

October 9, 2023 - Thanksgiving, no classes

October 31, 2023 - Halloween, no classes

November 20 - 25, 2023 - Last week of regular classes for fall term

November 27 - December 1, 2023 - Rehearsal Week for Nutcracker

December 1, 2, 3, 2023 - Tentative Nutcracker Performance, end of Fall term.
